Vancity is expanding access to values-based financial advice with the opening of a new branch in Burquitlam. Reflecting how members want to bank today, the branch is designed as an advice-first space to support members with financial guidance that goes beyond day-to-day transactions.
Located at 510 Clarke Road on the ground floor of a new residential tower, the 1,900-square-foot branch sits next to the Burquitlam SkyTrain station and serves one of Metro Vancouver’s fastest-growing communities.
With a modern, flexible layout, the branch is purpose-built to provide specialized advice to meet the banking and wealth management needs of Burquitlam-area residents and small businesses. Together with Vancity’s nearby North Road Community Branch at 105-531 North Road, the Burquitlam branch offers complementary services and expert advice to help members achieve their short- and long-term goals.
To provide a safe and inclusive environment, the branch incorporates global best practices for accessibility, including high-contrast tactile wayfinding for vision support, height-adjustable teller wickets, and hearing loops for auditory assistance. The space also prioritizes health and privacy. Specialized acoustic treatments enhance the privacy of advice conversations at the wickets and offices, and indoor air quality exceeds regulatory requirements.
“Our members’ needs are evolving and that’s reflected in the services they use at our branches,” said Wellington Holbrook, President and CEO of Vancity. “At our new Burquitlam branch, we’re focused on delivering the personalized financial advice our members are seeking to help them make confident financial decisions at every stage of their life or business growth.”
“At a time when other financial institutions are closing branches, we’re proud to open our Burquitlam branch and excited to open two more locations this year alone.”
