Vancity Welcomes Judith Bosire as new Chief Economist

November 27, 2025

Vancouver, BC, on the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations

Vancity is excited to introduce Judith Bosire as our new Chief Economist—a role that’s all about making sense of the economy for everyday people and local businesses.  Judith’s journey started in Kenya, took her to Wall Street, and brought her across Canada, where she worked in economics consulting at MNP, then Deloitte and most recently at the Federal Government, driving economic development investments across all three Canadian territories.

So, what does a Chief Economist do? Think of Judith as Vancity’s “economic GPS.” She keeps an eye on what’s happening in the world - like interest rates, housing prices, and job trends—and translates all that into practical advice for our members and the broader community. Her job is to turn complicated economic talk into clear, useful insights that help you make better decisions.

Judith is passionate about building communities where everyone can thrive. She says, “Economics isn’t just about charts and forecasts—it’s about people. When people do well, economies do too.” That’s why she’s excited to join Vancity, a credit union that puts community first and is working toward a more inclusive, values-driven future.

With Judith on board, Vancity is even better equipped to help members and small businesses understand the economic landscape and plan for the future—no jargon, just real talk.
